New Real Estate Agent When you are considering selling or buying what might become to be the largest investment of your life, you will want to pay careful consideration to hiring a real estate agent who's ink has not dried on their sales person's license yet. You will also want to throw caution to the wind when considering a "broker" that has not been in the "re-sale" game also. Being a broker does not always mean that Broker has been tempered by fire. It could mean that they have a Bachelors degree or a Juris Doctorate(attorney). We have dealt with "brokers" such as this and just because they have the "sheepskin", the Bachelors and or Juris Doctorate, to allow them to take the "brokers" test right out of the gate, they are not packing the gear to represent their clients to the maximum ability that can be found within the Real Estate Agent community. In both cases with, a new Agent and a New "non performing" Broker, you will want to make sure they are able to get you what you want with as much protection as possible. We had similarities in the Police Department. A new Recruit or Academy Graduate right out of training seemed to act is if they knew more than they actually did. Unfortunately the City streets are not as forgiving. The worst thing that can happen in real estate is someone yelling at you, the new agent, or the new agent loses a deal for a client. Both of which can be mostly fixed by throwing money at the issue. Sometimes, with the new "badge heavy" graduates, they needed to be put between the proverbial "rock and the hard place" before they gave thought to needing to learn a better way. Only time on the job can give a person those tools for their toolbox. I would suggest that you make sure that they have someone with "seasoning" watching over the transaction. In fact, you will also want to interview the person that is giving them the insight and helping with, sight unseen, with your real estate dealing.
That is what a Seasoned Real Estate Agent will give you with the largest investment of your life! A lot of Tools in their Tool Box - and you get to use it!
